I found out a month or two ago that I had come in second-place for the Colorado Parent Family Favorite Photographer. Just to be safe, I kept quiet until I had solid proof! I picked up an issue at the grocery store late last night and was about ready to burst when I opened it to the photographer section and … voila – I’m listed as a runner up!
This is such an honor and a fabulous anniversary present! I’ve been in business one year this July and I am a little awestruck to be recognized along with a few of Colorado’s finest photographers. Denver is filled with some amazing talent and I am lucky to call many of them friends.
And now for the thank yous. First of all, I couldn’t have done it without my PHENOMENAL clients. I have the best clients. I am fortunate to meet so many wonderful people in this journey. One such client (okay, really a friend) is Amy Ralston. Amy gave me my first go and I can’t thank her enough for trusting me straight out of the gate to take pictures of her beautiful children. I was also lucky to have had a few people not only recognize my “eye” for photography, but also encourage me to take a big leap, stretch outside my comfort zone and go for it (Erica, Cari, Tyann … just to name a few). My Dad, Mom and Grandma helped me with start-up costs (thank goodness) and lots of encouragement along the way … it helps to have a Mom brag on you everywhere you go.
And last (but not least) I am so lucky to have three wonderful children and a supportive husband. It has been an awesome journey thus far, and I wouldn’t want to travel it with anyone else. I am lucky to be married to the most supportive, loving husband. Brian supports all my adventures without question and without fail. I’ve been threatened (I’ll refrain from naming the thug) that if I ever leave Brian, a certain person and his posse will come after me. Not quite sure where that came from, but I’m glad to report that I intend on enjoying him for a very long time to come. I’ll leave you with one last picture of my slave labor, Baylor. My third (and last) celebrated with me early this morning with a little photoshoot.
