This post is in honor of me dear friend, Mary Beth Graff, without whom I never would have gotten 1st day of school pics up this year. I took ‘em … they have just languishing on my hard drive. My to do list seems to have grown rather than shrunk and I’ve had other things on my mind. So it is with glee that I post these pics (only 2 weeks after school started). Decker just turned 8 (I have no idea how this happened) and is starting third grade and Ridley, my sweet Ridley, is starting *gasp* first-grade. You’ll notice the subtle looks of apprehension – this is a brand new school for us (and I am happy to report that the kids love their new school and look forward to going every day). Without further ado …

Today is my son’s 7th birthday. As I hear so often from friends, family and clients … the time flies so fast. There are many times I forget just what he was like as a baby. Just one of the many reasons why I am instituting yearly birthday photos of my own children. Decker and I had a fun time taking these pics at a local park. As Brian reminded D today, this isn’t just a day to for him to celebrate his birthday … it is a day for me to celebrate carrying him for 9 months and bringing him into this world and a day for Brian to cherish those first few breaths and all the ones in between. We love you, Decker!

We had the opportunity to have our family pictures taken by Hanson Fong … a really great photographer out of San Francisco. He was in Breckenridge for Imaging Workshops … an annual week long photographer’s dream. I just wanted to show all of you how a typical family session goes for me with my own family. We went out to play after we had our pictures taken with Hanson. This is what I have to, um, put up with.

and every once in awhile I catch something like these …

Yep, that’s my husband. He’s a cutie. And just a side note because I don’t say it often enough. I am truly blessed to be married to such a fantastic man. He is such an awesome Dad … you should hear Baylor yell, “Daddy!” when he comes in the door. And even more than that, he’s my best friend.
